There is so much we can do at local level to look after the natural world around us – our countryside, plants, animals, rivers, hedgerows, footpaths.

Through campaigning, we can also encourage decision-makers at town, district, county and national level to  prioritise the environment in their policies and show real leadership in the fight against climate breakdown and biodiversity loss.

Thirsk Friends of the Earth is a new local group. If you're keen to do your bit for the environment, join us! From litter-picking to smart climate campaigning, we want to make a difference, so let's get started!

We look forward to hearing from you: thirskfoe@gmail.com.

People must feel that the natural world is important and valuable and beautiful and wonderful and an amazement and a pleasure....
